The Book. Original Title "Meme"

Meme / n, the cultural equivalent of a gene

An idea (or belief, behaviour, value, practice) which
replicates itself by being passed from one mind to
another.

Memes survive by being more likely to be
passed on and shared if they benefit their hosts.
They can be created, can mutate, or combine to
form new memes with elements from each parent.

They can be mutually supporting to form groups,
or complexes, which can be the substrate of
behaviour and belief systems. Memes can be
simple and short term, such as a fashion, offering
temporary success in a peer group.
Meme complexes can survive much longer,
with traceable lineage, adapting and evolving
to be powerful, perhaps irresistible,
influences on human behaviour.

Unfortunately - they do not know the future

The book is by a local author, when he worked around the world.
Planes and hotels meant time to write,
and visit the book’s many international locations.

Published 10 years ago, under two titles,
it got some good reviews in the UK,
also the USA, India, Canada & Australia.

Paige Andrews,  Director of US based Climatico
“A complex, tightly woven and irresistible story.
It will challenge your beliefs about humanity, leaving
you wondering how far is too far.
Both gripping and page-turning”.

Lymington Times
“a fast moving well-written suspense story”.
Echo
“fast-moving attention-grabbing, a real page-turner”

Niel Bowerman, Obama’s Environmental Team
“A true page-turner. I read it cover-to-cover in one
It touches on fundamental questions
which it will bring to a wider audience.”

But, back home, this came a distant second
to the author’s hi-fi loudspeakers,
so promotion stopped, leaving books unsold.

The CDs are from the loudspeaker business.

The book also has musical connections.
All chapter titles are pop songs – but changed.
There is a prize for whoever gets the most right.
